Allah created Adam as the very first human being and honoured him in a way no other creation was honoured. Allah taught Adam the names of everything and made him a leader over all creation. Every single human being who has ever lived is a child of Adam. He was the first person to say Alhamdulillah and the first to say Assalamu Alaikum. Allah placed him in Jannah first, and then sent him to establish human life on Earth.
Adam was the first person ever created and the first Prophet. Allah honoured him by teaching him the names of all things and making him a leader of creation. Every human being alive is connected to him.
Allah praises Idris with the title Siddiq β the completely truthful one. Allah raised him to a high place β and on the Night Journey, Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί met him in the fourth heaven. Idris is remembered forever as one of the most truthful and patient servants of Allah.
Allah called him Siddiq β the truthful. Of all the things Allah could praise, He chose truthfulness. Idris shows us that truth is one of the greatest qualities a person can have.
Nuh is one of the five greatest Prophets β the Ulul Azm. He called his people to Allah for 950 years β the longest mission of any Prophet. He built the Ark by Allah's command and saved believers and animals from the great flood. Allah called him Shakur β very grateful β one of the most beautiful titles given to any Prophet. All humans alive today are also descended from Nuh's family through the generations after the flood.
No Prophet ever called his people for as long as Nuh. 950 years of patience and never giving up. He shows us that dedication to Allah never runs out of time.
Hud was sent to the most physically powerful civilisation in history β the people of ΚΏAad who built towering monuments and said "Who is stronger than us?" Hud stood before them completely alone with nothing but the truth, and he never flinched. When the wind-punishment came, Allah saved Hud and those who believed β showing that true protection only comes from Allah, never from physical strength.
Hud stood alone against the most powerful people on Earth and never backed down. He shows us that one person with Allah on their side is stronger than any army.
The people of Thamud were gifted β they carved their homes into mountains. Allah sent them Salih from their own family. Allah gave them a magnificent she-camel as a living miracle β a sign they could see and touch every day. Salih gave them every chance. When they refused, Allah saved Salih and those who believed, showing that clear truth leaves no excuses.
Salih gave his people a miracle they could see every single day. He was completely fair and clear. He shows us that good advice and clear signs are the greatest kindness.
Ibrahim is one of the five greatest Prophets and holds the unique title Khalilullah β the Friend of Allah. He found Allah through his own thinking, stood up to his own father, broke the idols, survived a great fire, and passed the ultimate test of sacrifice. He built the Ka'bah β the house all Muslims face in prayer. From him came a whole family of Prophets: Ismail, Is'haq, Yaqub, Yusuf and more. His duas are recited by Muslims every single day in salah.
Allah called Ibrahim His friend β Khalilullah. No Prophet received this specific title. His legacy includes the Ka'bah, Eid ul-Adha, the Hajj rituals, and a dua recited in every single prayer by every Muslim on Earth.
Lut lived among people doing entirely new kinds of wrong β sins no community had committed before. He stayed with them for years, calling them patiently with no family support around him. When the punishment came, Allah sent angels directly to his home to rescue him. The angels even blinded the wicked men at his door. His story shows that Allah's angels are always ready to protect the believers.
Lut stood alone against an entire city for years. He shows us that one person calling to what is right β even if alone β is never wasted with Allah.
Allah praises Ismail specifically as Sadiq al-Wa'd β completely true to his promises. He was willing to be sacrificed for Allah β the greatest act of submission ever asked of a child. He helped build the Ka'bah with his father. He is the ancestor of Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί. The Hajj rituals of Safa, Marwa, and the sacrifice of Eid ul-Adha all trace back directly to Ismail and his mother Hajar.
Ismail was promised Sadiq β completely true to his word. Every Hajj pilgrim runs between Safa and Marwa because of his mother's trust in Allah. His legacy lives in every Muslim's prayer, every Hajj, and every Eid ul-Adha.
Is'haq was born as a miracle to two elderly parents β announced by angels. He grew up to be a righteous Prophet who continued his father Ibrahim's mission of calling people to Allah. From Is'haq came Yaqub and Yusuf β a beautiful chain of Prophets all guiding their people. Allah describes him and his children as leaders who guided people by Allah's command.
Is'haq was a gift to Ibrahim in his old age and became the father of an entire line of Prophets. He shows us that every child born is a blessing and a trust from Allah.
Yaqub said the famous words Sabr Jamil β Beautiful Patience β a phrase that became a guide for all believers in hardship. He had twelve sons who became the twelve tribes of Banu Isra'il. He cried so much from missing Yusuf that he lost his sight β yet he never gave up hope in Allah. When Yusuf's shirt touched his eyes, his sight was restored β a sign of his unwavering faith.
Yaqub introduced the phrase Sabr Jamil β Beautiful Patience β which Muslims still quote today. He shows us that hope in Allah never expires, no matter how many years pass.
Allah calls Yusuf's story Ahsan al-Qasas β the Best of Stories. Yusuf went from a well, to a slave, to prison, to the highest office in Egypt β through nothing but patience and trust in Allah. He was given half of all beauty according to a hadith. He could interpret dreams β a gift that saved a whole nation from famine. His forgiveness of his brothers is described as one of the greatest acts of forgiveness in human history.
Yusuf's entire story β from well to palace β shows that Allah's plan is always working. He shows us that patience, honesty, and forgiveness always lead to the most beautiful endings.
Ayyub is the eternal symbol of Sabr β patience. He lost his health, wealth, and much of his family β yet he never once complained to any person. He spoke only to Allah. His patience became so legendary that his name is still used when we describe patient people. When he finally called to Allah, Allah healed him instantly and restored everything β and more. His dua "Harm has touched me and You are the Most Merciful" is a model for every believer.
Ayyub is the Prophet of Patience. To this day Muslims say "patient like Ayyub." He shows us that the longest, hardest test ends with the most beautiful relief from Allah.
Shu'ayb was sent to trading communities to address economic dishonesty β cheating in weights and measures, and robbing people through fraud. He is unique among Prophets for having a mission focused specifically on economic justice and honest business. He was called the Khateeb al-Anbiya β the Orator of the Prophets β for his eloquence. He was sent to two separate communities with the same message of fairness.
Shu'ayb taught that honesty in business is part of faith. Islam's rules about fair trade and weights come from his mission. He shows us that how we deal with money matters to Allah.
Musa holds the unique title Kalimullah β the one Allah spoke to directly. He is the most mentioned Prophet in the Quran β named over 130 times. He stood before the most powerful king in the world with nothing but a staff and complete trust in Allah. He received the Torah on Mount Sinai and led the Banu Isra'il to freedom. He split the sea, worked through nine signs, and on the Night Journey, his love for the Ummah helped reduce our daily prayers from 50 to 5.
Musa holds the title Kalimullah β the one Allah spoke to directly. He is the most mentioned Prophet in the Quran. His care for this Ummah on the Night Journey gave us our five daily prayers. He is one of the very greatest of all Prophets.
Harun was chosen as a Prophet because of his brother Musa's heartfelt dua β showing that dua can shape destiny. He was famously eloquent β the most gifted speaker, which is why Musa asked for him. He led the Banu Isra'il in Musa's absence and stood firm even when the people nearly turned on him. He is a perfect example of the gentle, wise leader who holds his community together under pressure.
Harun was appointed as a Prophet through the dua of his brother β showing the power of dua. He was the gentlest and most eloquent of the Prophets of his time, and a model of patient leadership.
Dhul-Kifl is praised by Allah in the Quran alongside Ibrahim, Is'haq, and Yaqub as one of the most patient and righteous. He is also mentioned with Ismail and Idris as one of the best. Allah's description of him in the Quran is brief but powerful β patient and righteous, admitted into Allah's mercy. These two qualities β patience and righteousness β are the heart of every great person.
Allah chose to praise Dhul-Kifl simply for being patient and good. No famous miracle, no famous battle β just patience and righteousness. He shows us that consistent goodness is always enough for Allah.
Dawud was both a Prophet and a King β the greatest combination of spiritual and worldly leadership. Allah gave him the Zabur (Psalms) β one of the four divine books. His voice was so beautiful that mountains literally echoed his praise of Allah and birds gathered to join. He could make iron malleable with his bare hands. He earned his own living as a craftsman. His fasting and prayer schedule is described by Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί as the best ever.
Dawud combined kingship, prophethood, artistry, and worship in one person. He earned his own bread. He fasted the best fast. He shows us that every gift β voice, skill, leadership β should be used for Allah.
Sulayman was given a kingdom no one before or after him has ever had β wind, jinns, birds, and animals all under his command. He understood the language of every creature, including ants. He built temples and monuments using jinn labour. He converted the powerful Queen of Sheba to Islam through wisdom and a letter. He always used his extraordinary powers with gratitude to Allah β asking only to be counted among His righteous servants.
Sulayman had more power than any king in history β yet he only used it to serve Allah and guide people. He shows us that power is a test, and the right response to power is gratitude and service.
Ilyas stood up against idol worship that had completely consumed his community. Most rejected him. But Allah honoured him with something extraordinary β eternal peace recited over him by every Muslim who reads his name in the Quran: "Peace be upon Ilyas!" His reward came not from the people around him but from Allah directly. He shows that doing good for Allah β even when no one listens β is never lost.
Every Muslim who reads Surah As-Saffat recites peace upon Ilyas. Hundreds of millions of people have honoured him β simply because Allah chose to honour one who stood alone for the truth.
Al-Yasa' carried forward the mission of his teacher Ilyas faithfully. Allah mentions him twice in the Quran β once alongside the greatest Prophets, calling them all chosen and excellent, and once calling him righteous. His impact was in continuing without stopping β the greatest gift a student can give to their teacher's mission. He shows us that faithful, steady continuation of good work is itself an act of greatness.
Al-Yasa' shows us that carrying on someone else's good work β faithfully, quietly, and consistently β is one of the most valuable things a person can do.
Yunus is the only Prophet whose entire community β over 100,000 people β believed all at once. His dua inside the whale is called by scholars one of the most powerful duas ever β and the Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί said any Muslim who says it in difficulty will be answered. He was swallowed by a whale, saved by Allah, and went back to his people with renewed purpose. He is also mentioned in the Quran as a lesson in patience β teaching us not to leave before Allah says go.
No other Prophet saw his entire community believe at once. And his dua β Laa ilaaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minadhalimeen β is the most powerful dua of distress any believer can say.
Zakariyya was entrusted with caring for the blessed Maryam and witnessed Allah's miraculous provision of out-of-season food in her prayer room. This inspired him to never stop making dua for a child β even into extreme old age. His dua was answered with baby Yahya β one of the greatest blessings a Prophet ever received. He teaches us that no dua is ever too late, no wish is ever too old, and Allah is always listening.
Zakariyya made dua for a child for decades and never stopped. His persistence in dua is a model for every believer. He shows us that Allah's answer to dua has no expiry date.
Yahya received a name that had never been given to anyone before β a unique mark of his special place with Allah. He received wisdom from Allah as a child. Allah sent His own peace on Yahya on three occasions β birth, death, and resurrection. He was pure, kind, gentle, and never arrogant. He prepared his people spiritually for the coming of Isa ο·Ί.
Yahya was given wisdom as a child β younger than any other. His name was unique in all of human history. Allah's personal peace surrounds him at the three most important moments of his life. He shows that closeness to Allah can start from the youngest age.
Isa is one of the five greatest Prophets. He was born through a unique miracle β no father, by Allah's word "Be!" He spoke from the cradle. Allah gave him five unique miracles: giving life to clay birds, healing the blind, curing leprosy, raising the dead, and knowing the unseen. He received the Injeel as his scripture. He was raised alive to the heavens β and is still alive there today, waiting to return before the Last Day.
Isa has more miracles attributed to him in the Quran than any other Prophet. He is alive right now in the heavens and will return. Muslims love him deeply as one of the five greatest Prophets of Allah.
Muhammad ο·Ί is the Seal of all Prophets β the last and the greatest. He was sent not just to one people or one time β but to all of humanity and all jinn, for all time. Allah called him Rahmatan lil-Alamin β a Mercy to All the Worlds. He was the only Prophet taken through all seven heavens on the Night Journey. He received the Quran β the final and preserved word of Allah. He will be the one to intercede for the believers on the Day of Judgement. His character was described as "the Quran itself walking on Earth."
Muhammad ο·Ί was sent for every person who has ever lived and will ever live β including YOU. His message is for today, tomorrow, and always. The Quran he brought is still unchanged. He is Allah's mercy to the whole world.
Every single Prophet β from Adam ο·Ί to Muhammad ο·Ί β had the same message at its heart:
Each one was unique. Each one was brave. Each one was sent with love from Allah to guide his people. And each one is our hero β someone to learn from, love, and follow.
